Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan and prepare for integrated tool carrier operations
   • Access, interpret and apply integrated tool carrier documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
   • Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
   • Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
   • Identify and select any required tools and equipment, check for serviceability and rectify or report, verbally or in writing, any faults prior to commencement
   • Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues, and implement control measures
   • Perform equipment pre-start and post-start checks
   • Carry out start-up procedures
   • Communicate with other equipment operators and personnel using approved communication methods
   • Obtain and interpret emergency procedures, and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
2. Lift and move load
   • Operate equipment safely within limitations
   • Monitor and manage equipment performance using appropriate indicators/gauges
   • Assess site conditions, position equipment and ensure safety of other equipment and personnel
   • Communicate with Dogman to ensure appropriate slings and lifting gear are selected
   • Communicate with Dogman to ensure load and equipment is secured and stable
   • Ensure approved signals are used to receive guidance on movement of equipment
   • Complete all written documentation clearly, concisely and on time
3. Complete operations
   • Prepare integrated tool carrier for relocation
   • Move integrated tool carrier between worksites
   • Park integrated tool carrier and prepare for maintenance and shutdown
   • Inspect equipment for faults
4. Select, remove and fit attachments
   • Select attachment for the work activity
   • Remove, fit and test attachment
   • Use attachment for intended purpose
   • Remove, clean and store attachment
5. Carry out post-operational procedures
   • Inspect, fault find and report faults, verbally or in writing
   • Carry out routine operator servicing, maintenance and housekeeping tasks
   • Maintain and process written records and reports
   • Carry out minor operator maintenance to manufacturer's instructions and site requirements

Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies relevant documentation, policies and procedures

implements the requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient conduct of operations with an integrated tool carrier including:

interpreting ground conditions

driving

lifting and moving

refuelling vehicles

works effectively with others to undertake and complete conducting of operations with an integrated tool carrier that meet all of the required outcomes including:

complying with written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures

communicating clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructions

communicating clearly and concisely with others to coordinate work activities

demonstrates completion of conducting operations with integrated tool carriers that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

lifting and moving load

monitoring, assessing and adjusting equipment performance

moving and parking the integrated tool carrier between worksites

selecting, fitting and testing attachments

cleaning and storing attachments

coordinating activities with Dogman to ensure correct selection of slings and lifting gear

coordinating activities with Dogman to ensure load and equipment are secured and stabilised.

Knowledge Evidence

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of the following when conducting operations with integrated tool carrier:

techniques for calculating safe working loads

safety data sheet and materials handling methods

safe operating techniques in varying terrain

identifying and selecting appropriate slings and lifting gear

securing and stabilising load and equipment

guiding movement of equipment using approved signals

geological and technical data (basic)

equipment processes, technical capability and limitations
